Friendship is a big part of this story. It means something. To Opal friendship means happieness. Or not being lonely. It means happieness because she just moved to Niomi,Florida.And shes kind of lonely and sad. So when Opal made friends she was much more happier!!!!
To Winn-Dixie it means not being lonely. Because if Winn-Dixie is lonely he acts like he's not suppose to,like,making alot of noise!!!
What friendship means to me is having fun!! I think of friendship like having fun because if you don't have friends it's kind of boring!!!!
Loss/Loneliness
Loss/loneliness is another big part of the story.It's kind of sad. Opal is kind of lonely because she just moved to Niomi,Florida and she has no friends. And her mama left her and her dad when she was little!!
Although it doesn't mention it in the book I think that Winn-Dixie had a family before he met Opal. So he might know what it feels like to lose something like family. And then,when Winn-Dixie is lonely he acts like a bad dog!!
